We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our internal team of 8 specialists at Schuberg Philis. The team facilitates 15+ DevOps teams who run critical system environments for medium and big clients with a focus on availability and facing challenges that are part of these complex environments.
First and foremost, you are responsible for incidents and threats. The DevOps teams will be busy monitoring all environments, spotting for irregularities, threats, exposure etc. and you will be their point of contact. Critical incidents are yours and you make sure they are solved.
However, not a lot of the monitoring and incident handling is centralized yet. Your main project will be building an internal SOC from scratch and explore the different environments on security regarding applications, systems, network, endpoints and more. You will have sit-downs with the engineers, investigate the best solutions to centralize, come up with the designs and implement them (actual scripting the backend/pipelines to the environments as well as functional set-up of the actual tools of your SOC). You will create a central point with the right SIEM, data collectors, feedback loops and incident response in place.
You build it you own it. Once up and running you will be the one to further optimize the SOC, automate wherever you can, innovate the solutions you provide and make sure the overall organization and their clients are secure!
We are looking for
- At least 3-year experience within Security field in a security operation / engineering role
- Knee-deep involvement in the security community and up to date with the latest threats out there
- Knowledge on applications, systems, database, networking, cloud and the interconnectivity between them all – good conceptual knowledge on infrastructure as a whole
- Incident driven mindset: self-starting, independent, setting priorities and pressure resistant
- Strong working experience with SIEM (QRadar, ArcSight, Splunk, etc.)
- Strong scripting skills on whatever languages you prefer
The job brings huge diversity but even bigger responsibility. From the get-go, you will be ingesting the current monitoring systems, their status and the interconnectivity with the different platforms. You decide how to adjust towards the future. You will have a lot of freedom in this role and specialists in different niches working alongside you to learn from and become an even more complete security engineer. Sounds good? We’d like to hear from you!
