Fast is the new fast: in six months, Schuberg Philis and Van Lanschot Bankiers Belgium added an extra business branch to a company that has been in the banking business for centuries.
Van Lanschot is an independent wealth manager dedicated to the creation and preservation of wealth for private and institutional clients. Established in 1737, private banking, asset management and merchant banking are areas in which they excel and in which they stand out for their personal service, expertise and experience. In private banking they saw increasing demand for online services . Van Lanschot responded by launching a new service model: Evi. Online investing with private banking expertise. While Van Lanschot is firmly rooted in centuries of experience, it is perfectly adapted to the fast-moving world of modern technology.
This showed during the cooperation between Van Lanschot Bankiers Belgium and Schuberg Philis: in six months a completely new online business branch (online savings platform) was added to Van Lanschot in Belgium. Starting in May 2013, the engineers of Schuberg Philis designed and built a complete IT-ecosystem that facilitates the online banking for the Belgian customers of Van Lanschot. This service, named evi.be, gives customers 24-hour access to their saving funds. From anywhere in the world and at any time, clients can manage their assets, based on real time financial information.
The challenge for Schuberg Philis and Van Lanschot lied in the limited amount of time that was available to realize this project: due to Belgian banking laws, the online branch of Van Lanschot needed to be ready before the end of the year.
With their experience in building online banking systems, the engineers of Schuberg Philis designed and built the required mission critical systems in record time, closely cooperating with the experts from Sopra banking software. This not only required a deep understanding of the technical aspects of these systems, but also a keen eye for time management.
With the business requirements of Van Lanschot in mind, the engineers of Schuberg Philis worked on a rigorous schedule to ensure a fully functional, secure and thoroughly tested mission critical system by the end of December 2013. With a month to spare, the project was successfully completed.
The shared values of customer satisfaction, dedication to quality and the readiness to work together towards the best solutions, made the cooperation between Van Lanschot Bankiers Belgium and Schuberg Philis highly successful.
