Full-time Schiphol-Rijk 32-40 hours

In your role as Google Cloud Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team where you will focus on scalability and availability of websites on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will build and maintain platforms for our customers, support the CI/CD pipelines and the developer teams. Automation is key since we want as little operational work as technically possible.

As a Google Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and automation tools that support our cloud-based applications. You will work with both GCP and AWS technologies, as well as open-source tools and platforms You will collaborate with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our customer's systems, whilst contributing to the continuous improvement of our DevOps practices and processes.

One of the achievements of our team is enabling development teams to deploy their website within minutes after a change, without interference from our team. The platform that is running takes care of increased website usage (scalability with millions of end users).

You are a good fit for this role if you have or if you are:

  • Experienced in automating and running a large-scale operational environment
  • Relevant experience with operations in GCP environments, and AWS or Azure
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell
  • Familiar with configuration management tools and Infrastructure as Code, like Gitlab and Terraform
  • Experience with container technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm
  • Technology agnostic
  • Strong communication skills

Experience with web development and/or website deployments is a big plus, as is experience with Akamai.
