Over the past year Schuberg Philis has developed successfully by supporting customers with their digital transitions, resulting in good prospects for the years ahead. The company’s total contracted value rose 18% from €102 million to €120 million, while turnover and profits remained stable at €50.3 million and 9%. The growth in contracted revenue is the result of several new long-term contracts with new clients such as Argenta, NIBC, and Hartwig Medical Foundation, among others. The number of colleagues grew from 195 to 224.
Pim Berger, Managing Director van Schuberg Philis: “We see 2016 as a tipping point: a year in which we significantly expanded our services as well as our team of experts. For an increasing number of customers, we play a key role in their enhanced ‘business-critical ecosystem’. We help them meet IT challenges of all kinds: especially in getting their application landscape in shape, and making it ready for new developments. We engage in testing, monitoring, security, performance, and auditing, but our real strength lies in integrating the whole.”
Companies increasingly see the advantages of using cloud technology: their IT systems are thus becoming more flexible, more scalable, and more cost-effective. Schuberg Philis has developed a multi-cloud approach and tested it to remove objections related to moving the ‘digital crown jewels’ to the cloud. This comprehensive approach takes the architecture, the choice of technologies, the culture, and the organization into account. So customers can benefit from all of the advantages of cloud computing, without sacrificing security and reliability.
A growing number of customers feel the need to scale up their software development substantially. This involves close cooperation between the business and IT departments, as software development and operational IT are, in fact, two sides of the same coin. Software has to meet functional requirements from the business as well as the need for stability, compliancy, security, and flexibility. The combination of these two worlds, which were traditionally kept separate, characterizes our new role: a stable and, if required, cloud-based business-critical operation, in combination with a fast, flexible, and customer-focused front-end. This requires well-attuned DevOps-teams which are equipped with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment platforms and maintain good governance.
For Argenta, Schuberg Philis has delivered a completely new banking platform in 2016, making the organization ready for the future. The user experience has been radically improved and new services and functions can now be added and managed much more simply. The new digital bank was developed and put online by a consortium with Boondoggle and Five Degrees, under the leadership of Schuberg Philis. The same team will work with Argenta in the years ahead, further improving, expanding, and innovating services. This cooperation is typical of the new role of Schuberg Philis: ensuring that customers can innovate and upscale to the maximum, while safeguarding compliance with all requirements related to availability, data integrity, and security.
