Schuberg Philis issues SOC assurance report for her shared services for the 3rd year in a row

Schuberg Philis is moving forward faster than ever. The need for change at Schuberg Philis is directly related to the current exponential technology growth that offers our customers a whole new world of opportunities: systems that used to take months to build can now be created in minutes. Enterprises experience that customers no longer want to buy packaged software and instead expect everything to be delivered “as a service”.

In other words, they expect their vendors to behave like XaaS providers(X as a Service or Everything as a Service) who continuously update theirs services and all the while stay in control.

Running your business on top of fast changing technology can be a challenging risk for companies. To deal with this, Schuberg Philis has significantly changed and improved the way of working by aligning and standardizing a substantial part of activities through Central Services teams (think of e.g. IaaS activities). As a result, Schuberg Philis has been able to speed up the development, rollout and maintenance of most crucial processes like testing, virtual network configuration, identity management, versioning and monitoring. This has increased the quality considerably and it has become far easier to secure and increment our knowledge base.

High transparency

At Schuberg Philis we like to call ourselves the auditable company. We are convinced that trust is the fundament for a successful and intimate relationship with our customers. Trust is gained by being 100% transparent towards customers, as has been confirmed by the Dutch Central Bank as well.

Since 2014 our Central Services, including our cloud services, are audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers accountants N.V. (‘PwC’). The SOC Assurance Report on the internal control of our processes provides customers with detailed insights into the quality of all relevant shared processes at Schuberg Philis; our Mission Critical Cloud, the shared SAAS-services as well as our customer service portal Connect. The report covers the controls in seven areas: operational management, change and configuration management, business continuity management, identity & access management, infrastructure and virtualization, network management, software development. This thorough audit is perceived by our customers as one of the key pillars of trust.

The SOC report is based on the Schuberg Philis control framework, which has been developed based on international best practice models. These are the American SOC2 standard (used by providers like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure), the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) as well as the guidelines from the DNB (Dutch Central Bank). The report of PwC is in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000 and is available for all our customers.
