Software Engineer - TypeScript AWS (PostNL)

Full-time 32-40 hours

Design and develop mission-critical software.

Please note: We are not able to consider candidates who are not living and working in the Netherlands. At this moment, we are not providing relocation sponsorships.

At Schuberg Philis, we specialize in delivering mission-critical IT solutions that drive operations for our clients, ensuring reliability and excellence at every layer. Our commitment to quality and innovation drives us to seek a TypeScript Software Engineer with a passion for crafting resilient and efficient systems that are critical to client success. By joining our team, you will play a role in shaping the future of critical digital infrastructures, leveraging Typescript's cutting-edge capabilities to solve complex challenges and push boundaries in high-stakes environments.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with an open mind and a genuine passion for designing software architecture for mission-critical solutions. We help our customers with a variety of challenges, like creating friendlier online banks, designing portals, dashboards and backends that support large and critical business processes, or making factories smarter by combining cloud and IoT tech.

For this specific project, you will collaborate with developers and architects to design and build software that connects operator- and customer-facing hardware with a large-scale backend platform supporting nationwide parcel delivery operations. The platform manages the delivery process. Every parcel processed by the network flows through these systems, making it one of the most visible and operationally critical parts of the international logistics chain.

The platform supports accepting, sorting and grouping of parcel handling. The backend actively interfaces with parcels in real time, processing events from scanners, handheld devices and automated sorting equipment.

Our ideal colleague is someone with:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in software development
  • Strong experience designing and building microservices and event-driven architectures in cloud environments
  • Proven experience with TypeScript; familiarity with Node.js is a plus
  • Hands-on experience building serverless applications on AWS, particularly with services such as AWS Lambda and DynamoDB
  • Ability to write high-quality, maintainable, reusable and well-tested code
  • Experience working in large-scale distributed systems that process high volumes of operational events in real time
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or similar) and modern cloud development workflows
  • Experience integrating services and APIs within a complex enterprise IT landscape
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with engineers and architects to design reliable, scalable backend solutions
  • Security mindset/experience is a plus
