Schuberg Philis becomes new lead sponsor for Forze hydrogen fuel cell race team. Leading Dutch outsourcing specialist Schuberg Philis has signed on as the new lead sponsor for TU Delft university's Forze hydrogen fuel cell race team. Schuberg Philis will sponsor Forze until 2015, supporting the team with knowledge as well as financial support.

The team, which comprises an ever-changing group of students from TU Delft, has been designing and building hydrogen fuel cell racing cars since 2008. This year's Forze team has kicked off a new era by designing and building a full-size racecar with 190 KW (258 HP) of power and a top speed of 220 km/hour. Forze hopes that the new car will enable the team to break the lap record for hydrogen powered cars at Germany's Nuburgring racing circuit.

Schuberg Philis

Schuberg Philis has built a reputation in the Netherlands as a leading provider of outsourcing expertise for business critical applications. Founded 10 years ago and known for its focus on 100% customer satisfaction, the company knows that systems' availability is a critical issue, which can have an enormous impact on society.

Pim Berger, Managing Director of Schuberg Philis, is impressed by the ambitions of the Forze race team. "Forze is taking on an Olympian challenge this year by developing an environmentally friendly racing monster, one that must continue to function flawlessly regardless of the unprecedentedly heavy forces it will generate at racing speed. In other words, 100% performance and zero emissions. Their approach is parallel to the one we take with customer satisfaction. Just like Schuberg Philis, Forze is characterized by a total focus on a 100% result, a passion for technology, high performance teams and co-creation. We are happy to make our resources and knowledge available to help Forze reach the next level in technology, collaboration and knowledge-sharing."

TU Delft Dirk Jan van den Berg, Chairman of the Executive Board of TU Delft, said he was delighted with Schuberg Philis's support. "Our projects are highly advanced thanks to sponsors from the business world. The Forze team appeals to the imagination by combining sustainable technology with speed and the spectacle of racing." Team Manager Michel Haak added: "We participate in racing competitions to show that this sustainable technology already exists and is able to operate under the toughest circumstances. Our new racing car is a serious alternative to racing cars with conventional gasoline engines, of which the entire racing grid still consists. This was unthinkable a few years ago. The Forze VI, the latest model, will have almost 12 times more power than our first hydrogen car, in 2008.
