Business Intelligence Specialist

Connecting people and data through smarter, scalable solutions for fact-based decisions.

Colleague Schiphol-Rijk 32-40 hours

Over the last couple of years, Schuberg Philis has experienced significant growth in leveraging data for decision-making processes. We are eager to elevate our current mission-critical BI landscape, consisting of databases and reports, to the next level in terms of intelligence, usability, and scalability. Thus, we are seeking a Business Intelligence specialist who will help us achieve this goal.
Working alongside domain experts and data engineers, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Schuberg Philis' data-driven approach, empowering us to make informed and strategic decisions.

In this role, you connect people and data. You identify information needs, build data models, write SQL and create dashboards that help teams make better, fact-based decisions. You also use AI to speed up your own work and look for ways it can make our BI solutions smarter and easier to use. You’ll work with data engineers and other BI specialists in a central BI team. You’ll also work closely with domain experts from teams such as audit, finance, recruitment, sales and commercial excellence to understand how they work and what they need.

What you'll do

  • Turn business processes and system logic into data models

  • Implement those models in SQL

  • Build effective, scalable dashboards in Tableau

  • Work independently with stakeholders and data engineers, from gathering requirements to delivering tailored insights

  • Plan and manage your own work, take the lead in improving our BI capabilities

What you bring

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills: you act as the link between business teams and data engineering. You turn business questions into technical requirements, and technical concepts into clear, practical language for non-technical colleagues.

  • Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or Power BI

  • Comfortable writing SQL queries and familiar with data modelling concepts such as dimensional/star schemas

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, Copilot or Tableau AI for productivity gains and finding new ways to deliver value for stakeholders

  • Curiosity, a fast learning pace and enjoyment in connecting people and technology

Nice to have

  • Experience with dbt, Python, Git or a cloud data platform

Everyone we work with and consider working with has a right to equal treatment. The hiring and appraisal process at Schuberg Philis is designed to be thorough and equitable, implementing fair payment, benefits, and opportunities across all demographics.

It is our desire to be a company that brings together multiple nationalities, cultures, religions, genders, abilities, and talents within and across our teams. We welcome colleagues from diverse backgrounds to join Schuberg Philis and actively support diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
