Senior DevOps DBA - Oracle

A DBA expert but not limited to Oracle with an innovative and automation mindset

Full-time 32-40 hours

We are a leading engineering company delivering mission critical IT solutions. We place our experts in the lead combining 100% customer satisfaction and a people-centered approach.

As an Oracle DBA, you will be part of a team, consisting of multiple self-steering teams that focus on providing services to customers in the asset management domain. We do this to allow them to have a safe and controlled way of managing their assets. Operating in a regulatory environment requires decisiveness and preciseness. We manage the whole chain. We want to be praised for stellar stability – something that is crucial when you are in a regulatory market.

You will have the opportunity to work in an innovative and highly skilled environment, where you will take ownership of the infrastructure surrounding it and automation.

We are looking for an Oracle DBA who shares our view that common databases and infrastructures are becoming a commodity rapidly, someone who therefor wants to move higher into the stack.

What will you be working on?

For this set of customers, we manage the entire chain: everything from end user computing to the infrastructure that we run, falls under our responsibility. Some examples of projects that we have worked on:

  • Application upgrades and migrations
  • Datacenter migration
  • Automation, automation and automation
  • Implementing improvements in the entire chain

A large part of your role will consist of:

  • Installing, configuration and managing instances
  • Performance management and performance tuning
  • Automate as much as possible
  • Technical deep dives into the OS we run on our clouds
  • Configuration management (Chef, Ansible, Terraform)

What will make you successful in this role?

You want to play a part in the future of database automation. This can include CI/CD, configuration management (Terraform, Chef, Ansible), tooling, and good old scripting which enables you to automate everything that can be automated. In addition to that:

  • You are a T-shaped engineer, meaning you are comfortable operating across platforms and having an in-depth knowledge of databases
  • Solid experience working as an Oracle DBA
  • Experience with managing applications in Oracle instances, but also underlaying infrastructure
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash/Python/PowerShell)

Ready to take 100% responsibility, together? We look forward to hearing from you.
