At Schuberg Philis, we create, deliver and operate mission-critical IT systems where reliability, security and quality are absolute priorities. We take full ownership across the entire lifecycle — from initial planning through development to ongoing operations — ensuring systems perform consistently under all conditions. Our engineers work in environments where failure is not acceptable and maintaining high standards is essential.
In the role of Senior Go Software Engineer, you will contribute to a critical platform that operates at significant scale and complexity. Your focus will be on maintaining stability, ensuring reliability and enabling continuous improvement of systems that handle and distribute large volumes of data. You will collaborate closely with customer teams and distributed colleagues, playing an active role across design, implementation and day-to-day operations.
This includes developing and delivering Go-based features within three-week sprint cycles, as well as building and enhancing data processing pipelines and API-driven services. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving existing systems through bug fixing and operational support. A considerable portion of your work will involve driving quality improvements in a brownfield environment, while working closely with distributed teams through daily stand-ups and a shared sense of ownership.
Our ideal colleague is someone with:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in software development
- Senior-level experience with Go in complex applications and data processing environments
- Strong affinity with streaming data and API development
- Hands-on experience with AWS-based architectures
- Proactive mindset with clear ownership of outcomes
- Ability to mentor others and collaborate effectively in remote setups
Nice to have:
- Experience with database performance optimization
- Background working in brownfield systems
- Familiarity with Java-based environments
- Experience with Kubernetes
