Dutch technology company Schuberg Philis has opened its first office in Frankfurt, Germany, establishing a presence in one of Europe’s leading financial centers and bringing the company closer to German enterprises operating highly critical digital systems.

Many large enterprises today depend on complex digital infrastructures where outages or security incidents can directly affect business continuity. Schuberg Philis specializes in planning, building and running these environments, taking end-to-end responsibility for systems that businesses simply cannot afford to see fail.

Germany is home to some of Europe’s largest and most complex enterprise IT environments, particularly in financial services, industry and logistics, where digital reliability has become a strategic priority for boards and regulators alike.

The Frankfurt office builds on Schuberg Philis’ established presence in Schiphol-Rijk, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Stockholm, extending the company’s European footprint and strengthening its position across Northern Europe. The opening of the Frankfurt office is a next step in expanding Schuberg Philis’ activities in Germany. The company has been supporting German operations of international clients for several years and is now strengthening its local presence with an office in Frankfurt and plans to establish a German subsidiary.

For more than two decades, Schuberg Philis has worked with organizations whose core operations depend on highly reliable digital systems, including ING, Rabobank, Heineken and BNP Paribas. The company plans, builds and runs the IT environments that underpin these mission-critical business processes, which are systems where outages or security failures can directly affect business continuity, systems where outages or security failures can have immediate operational and financial consequences.

Over the years, this expertise has increasingly been recognized beyond the Netherlands. Schuberg Philis has supported financial institutions across multiple markets, including BNP Paribas in the United States, Argenta in Belgium, Nordea and DNB in the Nordics, as well as the German operations of several Dutch direct banks. These engagements demonstrate that the company’s approach to reliability, service quality and long-term partnership resonates well beyond its home market.

Building on this international experience, and following the opening of the Stockholm office, Schuberg Philis intends to establish another presence closer to its future customers. The ambition is simple: to bring the same level of operational excellence and trusted partnership to organizations across Europe whose businesses depend on technology that simply cannot fail.

Consistently ranked among the top IT service providers in the Netherlands, Schuberg Philis has held the number-one position in the independent Whitelane Research IT Sourcing Study for 17 consecutive years, based on customer satisfaction. This long-standing recognition underscores the company’s ability to deliver sustained value in the most demanding IT environments.

“Opening an office in Frankfurt is a logical step,” said Gerwin Schuring, Founder, Chairman, CEO at Schuberg Philis. “Our model is built around deep customer intimacy, end-to-end ownership and close collaboration. Being physically close to our customers matters when you take full responsibility for systems that cannot fail.”

Frankfurt was selected in part because of the company’s extensive experience in financial services, one of the most demanding sectors when it comes to reliability, security and regulatory compliance. The city is home to many of Europe’s leading banks, financial institutions and regulators.

“Financial institutions operate some of the most complex digital environments in the world,” Gerwin Schuring added. “Our track record supporting mission-critical systems in financial services made Frankfurt a natural place for us to expand.”

Schuberg Philis focuses exclusively on mission-critical IT landscapes, where reliability, security and adaptability directly affect business performance. Dedicated expert teams take full responsibility for planning, building and operating these environments end-to-end.

Unlike traditional IT outsourcing providers, Schuberg Philis focuses exclusively on environments where digital systems are directly tied to business continuity.

Because Schuberg Philis operates technology-agnostic, teams are able to select and integrate the solutions that best fit each customer’s context, rather than being bound to a specific vendor or platform. This allows organizations to combine extreme reliability with the ability to adapt and evolve their systems quickly — a balance that is often difficult to achieve in large enterprise IT environments.

Strategic support from Frank Riemensperger

Schuberg Philis’ expansion into Germany is supported by Frank Riemensperger, member of the company’s Supervisory Board.

Riemensperger brings extensive experience in digital transformation, technology leadership and public policy. As former Chairman of Accenture DACH and member of the Accenture Global Management Committee, he has advised many of Europe’s largest organizations on technology strategy and competitiveness.

Through his role on the Supervisory Board, he supports Schuberg Philis in strengthening its strategic position in key European markets, including Germany.

Frank Riemensperger commented: “In more than 30 years at Accenture I worked with many leading technology organizations across Europe. What struck me about Schuberg Philis is the depth of responsibility they take for mission-critical environments. It is rare to see a company combine this level of technical excellence with such a strong culture of ownership. Many organizations operating critical digital infrastructure would benefit from a partner that works with this level of commitment and quality. Germany in particular has a large installed base of complex enterprise systems where reliability and operational ownership are becoming increasingly important.”

Building the German team

To support its expansion, Schuberg Philis is actively building a team in Germany, focusing on engineers capable of designing and operating complex mission-critical systems.

The company hires selectively, ensuring teams consist of highly skilled engineers who take full responsibility for the environments they operate.

“Our ambition is to build some of the strongest mission-critical engineering teams in Europe and bring that capability closer to the customers who depend on it”
