Azure/Kubernetes Engineer

You will help build infrastructure that powers a cleaner future.

Full-time Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands 32-40 uur

For one of our customers, a leading player in the energy transition, we are focused on creating a scalable, secure platform for their future workloads. We do this by building a greenfield hybrid cloud platform. The platform will host critical workloads for this customer: a system that aggregates renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines to optimize energy distribution and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

As an Azure/Kubernetes Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing this platform, ensuring scalability, security and automation to support their mission of creating a greener, more sustainable future.

What will you be doing?

You will have a strong focus on both Azure and Kubernetes, and these will be your main responsibilities:

  • Design and build hybrid cloud solutions: develop and maintain Azure-based infrastructure integrated with our own private cloud solution (sbp.cloud) for a seamless hybrid environment;
  • Deploy and manage AKS clusters: configure through automation pipelines Kubernetes clusters to support containerized workloads over state of the art private connectivity;
  • Implement the infrastructure as code: use tools like Azure DevOps, Helm Chart configurations and Terraform to automate deployments and create transparency;
  • Enable secure networking: collaborate with networking teams to create robust segmentation and security for workloads;
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and work towards operational excellence.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a solid skillset in both Azure and Kubernetes:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure services and hybrid cloud architectures (L300);
  • Experience with deploying and managing AKS clusters;
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Helm Charts, Azure DevOps pipelines, Argo CD and other automation tools;
  • A nice-to-have is experience with Kubernetes beyond AKS, as are additional skills in Linux or knowledge of Windows VM environments.

If you have a green heart and want to make direct impact on the energy transition, this is the challenge for you. You will help build infrastructure that powers a cleaner future.
